SOME GOODIES!

Many new drugs demonstrate toxicity immediately, so I interpret the information on Kevetrin™ with a great deal of optimism. We are excited for the upcoming weeks when the next cohort, in which dosing levels will be doubled, may provide us even greater insight on what we believe is the most exciting oncologic drug in development today.

The facts are while other compounds mentioned are not yet in clinical trials, or ready for clinical trials, our flagship p53 compound, Kevetrin is currently in phase 1 trials ongoing at Harvard’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. I believe that a discerning examination of the article and publicly available information shows that we are not only ahead of these larger companies, but we have a better mechanism which is more likely to function against most cancers. Our research to date shows that Kevetrin affects both wild and mutant types of p53, a claim that to the best of our understanding, the other companies cannot make. It is true that Roche has had Nutlins in clinical trials for years, but has faced ongoing challenges. Our data shows that Kevetrin is non-genotoxic, meaning that it does not damage surrounding normal DNA.”
“As we stated in a press release on April 25, 2011 discussing our poster presentation at last year’s annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research, Kevetrin was a standout then amongst any other p53 drug in development,” added Dr. Krishna Menon, Chief Scientific Officer of Cellceutix. “Nothing has fundamentally changed since that day. In fact, the additional laboratory data that we have collected on Kevetrin, reinforces the novel drug’s ability to re-activate p53 to its role as a potent anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic protein and holds a great deal of promise as a new therapeutic for treating cancer including some of the most difficult to treat types of the disease. The New York Times may have overlooked Cellceutix and Kevetrin, but the organizations that are contacting us to host and sponsor clinical trials certainly have not.”

“We are excited by the advancement of the clinical trials of Kevetrin as we move toward finding the MTD (maximum tolerated dose),” said Dr. Krishna Menon, Chief Scientific Officer of Cellceutix. “While we are still early in the trials, we are eager to receive information on the p21 biomarker as it could represent a major breakthrough in cancer research. There has been no shortage of commentary and discussions in the scientific community recently about the latest initiatives of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to further expedite novel drugs to market for areas of great unmet medical need. Obviously, we will be exploring this option for Kevetrin, however an application for this type of rapid movement through the regulatory process can only be made after the completion of the phase 1 clinical study.”

“We are going to continue aggressively moving forward with Brilacidin as the current biotechnology environment is desperate for new therapeutics,” added Leo Ehrlich, Chief Executive Officer at Cellceutix. ”Reuters reported only yesterday that Swiss drugmaker Roche is poised to get back into antibiotics because of a novel drug that they want to develop to tackle drug-resistant bacteria. Simply, a novel drug has phenomenal sales potential. Johnson & Johnson’s Levaquin was generating $1.3 billion in sales before it came off patent. Cubist’s Daptomycin for ABSSSI only comprised 8 percent of total doses, yet controlled approximately 82 percent of total sales in that market. The majority of approved antibiotics today are legacy drugs or variations of them for which resistance is constantly evolving. Our plan is to establish Brilacidin as the next generation antibiotic. It has opened a door to a multi-billion-dollar pathway and we are not just looking at it, we are part way through it and moving as quickly as possible to establish a leadership position.”

“The alarms have sounded globally, signaling the dire need for new antibiotics and the premium prices that promising compounds can command. Roche recently jumped back into the antibiotic markets by agreeing to pay up to $548 million for a Phase II antibiotic targeting Gram-negative pathogens,” said Dr. Krishna Menon, Chief Scientific Officer at Cellceutix. “We believe there is a great interest in the pharmaceutical industry for clinical-stage gram-negative compounds. We are extremely motivated to move the drugs forward as quickly as possible to statisfy this interest. The latest research with PMX1502 and PMX1408 well positions us to move into the multi-billion-dollar anti-fungal and Gram-negative bacterium markets. We knew we were gaining substantial assets with the PolyMedix acquisition, but this is evolving into more than even I expected at this point.”

Entering the conference, the Company believed that Brilacidin for a single indication such as Acute Bacterial Skin and Skin Structure Infections (ABSSSI) would conservatively have a market potential slightly above $100 million annually should it eventually garner U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval. Following a week of meeting with other biotechnology companies, investment bankers and analysts, the Company realized that it was significantly undervaluing its estimation of the potential value of Brilacidin for ABSSSI. Several factors influenced the determination, including the dire need for new antibiotics that have not yet developed resistance and are less likely to develop resistance, recent changes in reimbursement policies and an ongoing shift to encourage cost-effective therapies, which is supportive of single-dose treatments, such as two of the dosing regimens in the upcoming Phase 2b trial of Brilacidin. The Company sees reduced reimbursement for the other competing drugs for ABSSSI that have already developed resistance and a higher reimbursement for a drug like Brilacidin, which is needed for patients who have resistance to existing antibiotics. Further, reimbursement is expected to be higher for drugs that prevent serious illness or death and for those where there is no alternative treatment

Due to the unique properties of Brilacidin as a defensin mimetic and a possible one-time or even a three-day drug treatment to patients, we see an FDA approved Brilacidin for ABSSSI having the potential to knock off the present market leader who is presently generating approximately $1,000,000,000 in yearly sales.

smitter, it was a nice consolidation day, and a green one.

Best consolidation and loading at this lever than any other previous attempt to crack $2.00.
If she breaks it this time and holds we could see $2.15-$2.30 very quickly....
$2.00 was a major support/resistance level the last time round. We got lots of the heavy lifting done today, with volume of 940,106.
Third consecutive white candle day, and each day with above average and increasing volume.
Really liked todays trading. Did not get overheated. Lots of backfilling. Sustainable gain. Good launching pad for the test on $2 tomorrow.
CTIX Stock Message Board http://investorshangout.com/Cellceutix-Corpor...TIX-87375/
NITE was playing games with a 30K ASK and then dropping to a 100 Ask on 1.99 removing the 30K....back and forth trying to keep a lid at 2
All of this is just building a great support launching pad. Hopefully whoever is buying 10-20K at a time is holding for Long.
Awesome day! Massive buying end of day. Look for $2.15-$2.25 range IMO before a correction to cool the chart. It looks like the buyers are buying everything under $2.00 so when it breaks it will become support and strong support.
Have a great evening everyone!
Regards
Smitter
What could happen is a spike to $2.15-$2.20 the. A retrace to $2.00 range re setting the RSI.
Get the paint and brushes ready, we may need them... On your mark... Get set...

RSI is 85-90. Can this rally be sustained?
And here comes the buying! $2.00 up!
200k shares purchase will do the trick. close at HOD, that will make a 3 white soldiers pattern.
Edited: we are at 2.00 and 150k more shares to go for 1 mil.
Hilarious!! Thanks... I needed a good laugh today...
Expecting big money to buy 20-40k prob within 15 mins of close like the other day and wipe out $1.99-$2.00.
Do we take a trail run with the FDA on BTD status of "B" while we are talking about "P"? We will be having a face to face meeting with them wont we?
From Todays PR
Moreover, given the unique mechanism of action, among other attributes, there is low, if any, potential for the development of resistance. Finally, the results of the current study may demonstrate that Brilacidin could be given as a single-dose, which provides benefits for both patients and society.
This combination of properties makes Brilacidin unique among antibiotics recently approved or in development for the treatment of MRSA. Because these other compounds come from existing classes of antibiotics, there is the potential for cross-resistance; this is not the case for Brilacidin.
I think its worth a shot.
I know one thing, I either own way too much or way too little of this stock
You could be right as well about the RR news release. Just a heads up for all of us...it is only 13 TRADING days until Leo presents. Not including today.
Prurisol trial will be very quick once he has meeting with FDA. Kevetrin we will know a lot more about soon.
After the long wait we are close to a bonanza of good news.
200 share at 1.98, 775 share at 1.97, WOW!
Now if only he would announce he was ordering 1,000 KG (2,250 lbs) of Kevetrin and another 1/2 ton of Prurisol!!!
That wouold be even better!!
Yes...I agree with him on Leo and the message he sent via the 65 lbs. of Brilla being produced. What an ingenious way for Leo to send a clear signal while reporting a material fact...the production of a large amount of brillacidin for future trials is a statement pregnant with unstated information.
Thanks for sharing Bio.
