GNCP - Sorry, but the 3rd party promotions are paid for by those short selling into buying demand.
Then like clockwork, pulling the pump from under the promo and following up with efforts to drive the price down to every decreasing levels.
GNCP is a textbook example of how this works. All of the players did EXACTLY what was expected of them, and what was anticipated that they would do.
Countless other stocks have seen the same exact playbook followed. And the players have been warned that eventually, their strategy and tactics would catch up with them.
Here we are with billions and billions of naked short interest buried in the algorithms of the brokerage houses, clearing firms, and market makers.
The beauty of it all, the DTCC is not going to bail those parties out. In fact, the DTCC is about to teach FINRA and the SEC a very tough and expensive lesson.
And about those loose ends...
