Biomass Gasification Center to Be Built in Texas
Cirque Energy announced recently that it has entered into an agreement with ReCom Operating Partners to build a 2.5 MW biomass gasification center in Midland, Texas. The center, to be called the Midland Biomass Energy Station, or MBES, will use solid waste to generate renewable energy, and will then sell that energy through the deregulated utility market in Texas.
Cirque Energy is a large energy corporation, and ReCom Operating Partners is a food waste recovery and recycling company based in Midland, Texas. Cirque Energy will build, run, and maintain the MBES, while ReCom will supply the waste that the MBES will use to generate energy.
Experts say that this type of plant could be the beginning of a revolutionary trend in the field of renewable energy, because of the sheer volume of waste that is sent to landfills. If that waste can be effectively and cost-efficiently turned into energy, then we can reduce the amount of waste in landfills while producing a clean, reliable form of renewable energy.
