Uhm, he does. All you have to do is look at the BULK of the legislation being proposed. They are recognizing a SERIOUS calamity that weak mindeds like you continue to ignore, and that is our changing climate. You've bought Dirty Energys propoganda package hook line and sinker. Obama and most Democrats have not, and if their is an industry to start winding down Coal is definately at the top of the list. Next thing youll say is it was a bad idea to call Big Tobacco out on its lies and begin its gradual decline from mainstream use too?
You see, when things are found to have consequences that outweigh the benefits then its at that time that you begin a new strategy. Fossil Fuels served their purpose, and will (unfortunately but practically) be around for decades more as the primary energy producer. But nothing bad comes from using clean energy like the Sun and Wind, NONE at ALL, or investing in companies to help speed up the CURVE of technology to make these new techs more affordable on a mass scale....thats why you have to take the Solyndras of the world on the chin, because there ARE going to be companies that suceed where they failed. Thats precisely why you continue to invest, not just say the whole industry is crap and government sucks stop spending bla bla bla bla. And its energy that can be created right here at home, creating MILLIONS of new jobs....not the measly 10,000 the Keystone Pipeline will give the economy, while simultaneously sticking taxpayers with the maintenance and cleanup bills.
