However, stating that 80% of the world has an average download speed of 20 mbps is a little too optimistic I believe.
Referring to http://www.netindex.com/download/allcountries/ and http://www.worldometers.info/world-population/#region, a figure of closer to 62% would be more accurate, considering the entire world.
A quick calculation gets me to about 4.5 bln out of 7.2 bln with a download speed of minimum 20 Mbps.
South America, Africa, the Middle East (apart from the UAE), SEA (except Thailand) average below 6 Mbps. Even India, an emerging economy with more than a billion in population, doesn't get to 6Mbps.
That said, of course the real market for streaming 4K are not these regions, and those that do meet the minimum today represent a massive amount of potential viewers.
I hope that over on Ihub the bashers don't take your number of 80% as food for their "unbiased objective debunking" and make firewood out of your post with misleading arguments, as they are so good in doing just that. But that's no news.
