NEWS!! MCW Enterprises Documents Progress of Its Oil Sands Extraction Plant in Asphalt Ridge, Utah
VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwire - November 13, 2012) - MCW Enterprises Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: MCW) ("MCW"), a Canadian holding company involved in fuel distribution and the creation of oil sands recovery technology, today detailed ongoing progress of its oil sands extraction plant project in Asphalt Ridge, Utah. MCW completed the financing for this project as announced July 20, 2012. MCW intends to document the progress of its initial plant project with a series of press release announcements detailing the steps required to assess and establish the ability of its oil sands recovery technology, on which a patent application has been submitted and is pending in both the United States and Canada, to achieve production.
Component Fabrication:
The various components for the initial extraction plant were designed, specified and sent out for tender to various experienced suppliers prior to July, 2012. The various systems to be incorporated into the design of the extraction unit were identified as:
1. Material Input Systems, which MCW anticipates will deliver the oil sands materials into the unit's extraction chamber column.
2. Extraction System, which MCW anticipates will process and recover the bitumen and the solvents. This is the major operating system of the technology which includes the extraction and rectification columns, heat exchangers, evaporators, etc.
3. Tailing Output System, which MCW anticipates will facilitate the expulsion of the cleaned sands.
The Extraction System components were fabricated and shipped to MCW's oil sands lease site in Asphalt Ridge, Utah, and the balance of this system, together with spare parts, will be arriving onsite later this month. The Material Input Systems and the Tailing Output System are being produced/fabricated locally and are on schedule for shipment shortly.
About MCW's Technology:
MCW has developed an environmentally-friendly, continuous flow, closed-loop technology on which a patent application is pending in both the United States and Canada. While this technology has not been previously proven in the United States or Canada, MCW anticipates that it will extract all types of hydrocarbons from oil sands materials (oil-wet or water-wet). This extraction technology is anticipated not to use any water during the extraction process. It is also not anticipated to produce greenhouse gases, nor does it require high temperatures or pressures and is anticipated to extract a significant amount of hydrocarbon content. It is also anticipated to recycle a significant amount of benign solvents within the closed-loop system.
The system's equipment includes but is not limited to the patented design of the extraction and rectification columns, a patented solvent composition and an energy-efficient heat exchange system.
Initially, MCW filed provisional patents for the technology in the U.S.A. and Canada in 2011, and MCW has now filed non-provisional patents for both countries, which include more comprehensive detail on solvent composition and extraction column design.
MCW has also filed a PCT Application (Preservation of Foreign Filing Rights), which will cover all disclosures and provides MCW with the rights to file International Patents as required. The U.S.A. Provisional Patent was filed in September 2011. Two more patents pertaining to in-depth chemistry composition and extraction column design have also been filed in October 2011.
MCW's Chief Technology Officer, Vladimir Podlipskiy, is heading up MCW's Asphalt Ridge oil sands extraction project. "We're very pleased with our progress on this, our very first plant in Utah, which we anticipate once tested will represent a benchmark as America's first environmentally-friendly oil sands extraction project," he stated. MCW intends on releasing information as the project progress continues.
