Staten Island resident Chris Janusis appeared on America’s Newsroom today to discuss FEMA’s response to Hurricane Sandy in his neighborhood.
Janusis described how FEMA, without explanation, posted a “restricted use” letter on his door; forbidding him from entering the premise until it was deemed “fixed.”
“There was no investigation into my house whatsoever, no evaluation. Nobody came in to look at my house, to see if the foundation was okay, to see the damage in my house. They just came, walked up to my house, stuck a sticker on the door and walked away” Janusis said. “They just want me to fix my house, right now.” he added.
Despite the ordinance to not go in, Janusis admitted he was still living in his house.
