LOS ANGELES, Aug. 4, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Pepper Hamilton LLP announced today that Ted R. Gropman has joined the firm as a partner in the Construction Practice Group, based in the firm's Los Angeles office. Gropman is Pepper Hamilton's first construction attorney in its LA office. His hiring furthers Pepper's strategic initiative to build out its well-regarded Construction Practice, as well as its newly formed Los Angeles office.
For more than 33 years, Gropman has devoted his practice exclusively to construction law, focusing on the representation of contractors, subcontractors, design professionals and institutional owners on both private and public works projects. His practice focuses on litigation and arbitration of disputes involving delay and impact claims, scope of work disputes, mechanic's liens and stop notices, bid protests, construction defects and contract drafting and review.
He most recently had his own law practice in Woodland Hills, Calif. Gropman joins one of the top construction law practices in the nation. Pepper Hamilton was recently cited by Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business as one of the top construction law firms in the country, and many of its partners are ranked.

Gropman is a 1980 graduate of the University of West Los Angeles School of Law, where he was a member of the UWLA Law Review. He received his B.A. from Sonoma State College in 1973.
He has been a member of the American Arbitration Association's Large Complex Case Program panel for more than 15 years and previously served on the board of contributing editors of the California Construction Law Reporter . Gropman also serves as a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, Continuing Education of the Bar and the American Institute of Architects. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for construction law every year since 2010 and has been included on the Southern California Super Lawyers list from 2007-2014.
