In 2013, the sales volume of gasoline engines in China amounted to 16.619 million units, of which the self-equipped volume was 10.612 million units, commodity volume 6.007 million units, with the proportion of self-equipped volume rising from 58.1% in 2009 to 63.9% in 2013. In terms of market competition pattern, as of 2013, there were about 46 auto manufacturers that produced auto gasoline engines, of which the top 5 were FAW-Volkswagen, SGMW, Shanghai Volkswagen Powertrain, Shanghai GM Dongyue Powertrain and Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company.
