"Take into account their ages...." Excuuuuse me.... I thought Dr. Menon was 62 and Mr. Ehrlich was 56. How many CEO's can you think of who want to retire at 56, or even 60, when they are at the height of their powers? Do you not know of any scientists who keep working into their 70's or 80's? I do.
60 is the new 40. I cannot imagine a scientist who has been involved with not one, but two (or possibly three, if the autism drug works) literally live-saving and life-changing new approaches to treatment for horrible diseases, who would say "okay fellas, I've taken this far enough, somebody else finish it and remember to mention me when the Nobel Committee calls." Remember, Linus Pauling was active into his 90's.....
