We are currently exploring exactly what we are going to change the name to. This has both legal, legislative, and general logic governing these decisions. We feel that BudGenius and/or Genius-related namesakes best represent our brand. It is also the brand that the public is most familiar with. Prior to Jan 1, 2014 (and the recreational legalization of CO) we would have never have considered a name change to anything other than BG Medical Technologies. However, the landscape has favorably changed and cannabis/marijuana is becoming better received in the nation. Nevertheless, cannabis is still federally illegal. Other public companies that have utilized this in their name have received some unfavorable downward pressures on their business practices that we would choose to avoid.
All things considered, there are strong advantages to being identifiable as a cannabis company from our name. However, we also exceed the confines of "just a cannabis company", as we have considerable interest technologies that work in conjunction (and separate) from cannabis to facilitate healing. Some of our determining factors are also in evaluating the progress of state and federal legislation.
We have weighed many sides of this equation and continue to. In my personal opinion (and I believe many shareholder opinions as well), the sooner we get rid of the name "RightSmile", the better.
