As you know Dr. Haavig was asked to give a talk at the Chicago meeting, this is a big deal because all eyes will be on the MIT1000 and its performance data. Most of these people are science based so I imagine the interest will be keen. Ironically, Arun Bhunia is speaking as well, he is part of the team at Purdue that has the Bardot system; the same forward scatter technology as the MIT1000. Haavig holds the first patent for this technology from 2002. The Bardot patent, based on identification of whole colonies was granted 2 years later to Purdue. Dr. Haavig will be the only person in that room with the first patent of this technology to his name. I talked with him for two hours straight at the Providence exhibit and he is very bright, knowledgeable, and modest at the same time. I know he is going to do well.
