Immigration remains a key election issue
To the editor:
President Obama has no intention of stopping the bleeding when it comes to illegal immigration. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the first step in resolving the problem is sealing the border. With his recent executive order, where he circumvents the authority of Congress, Obama has ensured that amnesty will continue to occur, and he is not stopping the illegal border crossings.
Recently, Sheriff Joe Arpaio tried to turn over two suspected illegals to Obama's Homeland Security, and they refused to take them. Sheriff Arpaio's Department then drove them to the Border Patrol and transferred the custody to them.
We are a country of laws, not of selective laws. To the detriment of our country, only certain laws are being enforced. We are continually being told by the administration, that we must have "comprehensive immigration reform." The American people have repeatedly voiced their opinions that the bleeding must first be stopped, then we can deal with existing issues. It falls on deaf ears with this administration.
We have the most liberal policies of dealing with illegal immigration of any country in the world, and we have a president that not only ignores it, but by his actions, he sanctions it.
