Estimated_Prophet with his spreadsheet was the Koolmoto of years past.
I will say, though, that all EP did was to record into a spreadsheet, data given by Mr. Bordynuik himself. Mr. Bordynuik told investors the cost of his 'fuel' was under $10/bbl and Mr. Bordynuik said he had offers in hand to buy all the fuel he could make for WTI-$3 (around $80/bbl at the time). Mr. Bordynuik told investors the $80,000 Donghe produced 115 barrels of this fuel per day per processor and Mr. Bordynuik said he would have 2,500 processors in place in the "next few years" out from 2009.
Anyone blindly trusting that Mr. Bordynuik was honest and putting together a spreadsheet to record Mr. Bordynuik's misrepresentations would have a similar highly-positive projection. However, to borrow a phrase from 4kids, founder Mr. Bordynuik is a "lying sack of crap." If the numbers going into a spreadsheet are garbage then the results will be garbage.
And those people who 'adjusted' Mr. Bordynuik's representations downward to show everyone a "highly conservative" estimate of how highly profitable JBI would be under a conservative scenario, were still using those garbage numbers as their starting point.
