Policy makers including chief executives, legislators and regulatory agencies of government in Nigeria and global Information and Communication Technology (ICT) leaders will converge on Lagos to deliberate on transiting Nigeria and Africa from a passive consumer to a dominant innovator and producer of technology.
The event which is the third in the series is organised by Digital Africa Conference & Exhibition. The conference is slated to hold in May 2014.
Alongside the digital conference, the 19th World Electronics Forum (WEF) will hold simultaneously at the same venue.
It is the first time WEF will hold in Africa soil, Daily Trust reports.
The World Electronics Forum is the annual forum of CEOs and directors of the global electronics industry associations of the leading economies of the world including USA, China, Japan, Germany, Britain, India, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, Russia, Brazil, Philippines, and Vietnam.
The 18th edition was hosted by Vietnam in 2013, the 17th was held in Philippines in 2012 and the 16th edition was hosted by USA in 2011.
Dr. Evans Woherem, Chairman, Digital Africa Global Consult Limited, organisers of the Digital Africa conference and local host of the 19th World Electronic Forum said: “The democratisation of technology is happening on the African continent with consumers having greater access to purchase and use technologically sophisticated products because digitization and mass production are driving the global technology industry”.
