IBC today announces that the IABM has confirmed its sponsorship of IBC Content Everywhere, a new series of events powered and created by IBC. Prompted by the rapid development of digital media over IP-connected devices, IBC Content Everywhere will enable attendees to tap into vibrant high growth media markets and regions across Europe, MENA and LATAM.
The IABM believes that the IBC Content Everywhere series of events offer excellent opportunities to their members to open up numerous business prospects in the selected regions and provide a platform for organisations to gain an in depth understanding of these rapidly growing markets.
“There are numerous business opportunities that exist in these regions and IBC Content Everywhere will complement existing shows and provide an excellent platform for organisations to gain an in-depth understanding of these markets through thought leadership, insight and debate. We see the events as an opportunity to deliver further benefits to our members, as well as IBC customers, as they represent a fixed-cost entry into these rapidly growing emerging markets,” says Lisa Ibbotson, IABM marketing manager and chair of the Exhibition Task Group, IABM.
“The ETG plays an active role in selecting shows that are most appropriate for members within the industry that the IABM supports. We really see the value of the new IBC events and see them opening up additional business opportunities to our members.”
The business areas coming under scrutiny across the series include rich media production; devices; apps; digital marketing; social media content personalisation; big data; cloud services, second screens and investment and will be supported by a highly targeted audience profile.
In an entirely new approach to a trade show experience, attendees to the series will be able to build a personal network of global contacts by being automatically granted free membership to IBC Connexions. With this membership, each attendee can digitally network and collect exclusive contact information and content with the innovative use of IBC’s NFC enabled networking technology, Touch & Connect. They can then access, interact and export this information via their personalised online IBC Connexions portal 365 days a year.
“Video is a huge part of the traffic over the internet and this can’t be regarded as a bolt-on to existing broadcast infrastructure.” says Michael Crimp, CEO of IBC, “One third of the planet will have fixed broadband by 2017, and this demands new business models; platform-specific content; and will appeal to a mobile-centric audience. The challenge is to create business models and relationships that take advantage of this opportunity. We’re going to bring people together, to find answers to the questions presented by this, the next step in the digital revolution for media.”
The first in this global series, IBC Content Everywhere Europe will take place alongside IBC2014 between 12 – 16 September in Amsterdam, with the IBC Content Everywhere MENA taking place between 18 – 20 November in Dubai.
