He got lost on your statement about putting in your 2 cents and something about him not asking for it (not asking for your opinion....or your 2 cents...or whatever).
He totally misconstrued what you said and took it as an insult.
Then he went off the hook......and it looked like he tried to retract it or apologize for it after.
