The drawing still appears to be active so unsure am I about the status of the first units in regards to if they have yet arrived; management stated that the PP drawing would be closed upon the delivery of the first few units. From the verbiage included in the new PP pics page, it seems that there will not actually be a full production launch of the new product until the winners from the drawing have gone through the process of testing and reviewing the new units, whenever they finally arrive. Judging by the lack of news about timing of the first production batch of devices, it looks like there may have been more delays. Previous statements from management pointed to June as the month for production launch, however there are six more days until July and the production launch will only occur once the company and drawing winners have received, tested and reviewed the new product so I imagine that could take some time.
As for the new design, unfortunately, unimpressed am I.
I still like the idea of the feature set, however the look and feel of the new unit is very dry, drab, cumbersome, clunky and just plain average. I just do not look at it and see greatness, it does not have that "wow" factor. Perhaps in the usage of the unit the user will gain a repoire with the device and see the value in its features but just looking at it aesthetically, my opinion is that it could wind up being rather difficult to market to the general consumer public. Just my opinion I am typically wrong about many things but I feel there is something lacking in the visual design of the new unit; plain and boring it is. Hopefully for shareholders the device works really well and has a robust feature set. No telling when the first few devices will eventually come and the drawing will be closed so that testing and reviews can be made for the new unit but as for the actual full scale production launch of the new unit, it could wind up being a very long time. In many cases the first production runs are just to iron out the defects and problems which arise in mass production. If a design defect is found then it's back to the drawing board and more delays.
Do or do not, there is no try.
