It just shows who has been operating in the building and why sometimes the price moves (or is about to move, looking at recent history short volume). Gives a much more accurate picture than the bi-monthly short interest. Shorts like to claim there's no short-interest in stocks, but we know different. MM's move in/out daily with short volume...
