Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker was the featured guest at the event.
"It's exciting to be here today to welcome the first EVO CNG and Trillium CNG refueling station to Wisconsin," said Governor Walker. "Over the last three and a half years, we've worked tirelessly to create a business friendly environment that will encourage companies like EVO CNG and Trillium CNG to invest in our state. I'm proud to be here today with Wisconsin's newest job creator."
The Oak Creek location is the first CNG station to be opened by EVO Trillium.
"We are excited about the future of compressed natural gas as a transportation fuel in the United States and, more specifically, in Wisconsin," said Danny Cuzick, President and CEO of EVO CNG. "Wisconsin is one of the states on the leading edge of CNG infrastructure development. EVO CNG is proud to add our name to the list of CNG stations built specifically for fueling Class 8 tractor-trailers here in the Badger state."
The station's anchor tenant, Sheehy Mail Contractors, operates ten Freightliner Cascadia tractors with Cummins-Westport ISX G engines, and is planning to add more this summer.
"Sheehy Mail Contractors, Inc. is proud to partner with EVO Trillium by using CNG from the Oak Creek station in the Class 8 vehicles used in our Wisconsin operations," said President John Sheehy. "We are excited to be part of this paradigm shift to a cleaner, more reliable fuel source. Our goal is to operate a majority of our vehicles using CNG fuel and demonstrate that not only is this the right thing to do for the environment, but that it also makes financial sense."
The station is open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It has four dispensers and features Trillium CNG's proprietary fast-fill technology. The station has been designed to accommodate Class 8 tractors and trailers, as well as light and medium duty vehicles.
