Baltia Airlines (OTCQB:BLTA), the only US-based corporation undergoing FAA Part 121 Air Carrier Certification, recently announced the installation of all four engines onto its 747 aircraft. This marks a monumental event in the company’s timetable for certification, as the engines being mounted indicates that the plane will soon be in the air for proving flights and other tasks.
While Baltia is in Phase II, the remaining tasks are nowhere near as complicated as the plane’s maintenance checks and engine installation. Baltia, guided by the expertise of Kalitta Air’s crew, was able to pass several thousand (estimated upwards of 28,000) different checks for the aircraft. Simply put, the entire plane is taken apart and inspected at the finest level of detail imaginable, and then re-assembled before the engines are mounted and the plane is allowed to leave the hangar. This was arguably the final major hurdle for Baltia.
In addition to the progress in certification, Baltia has also been seeking to fill several notable positions in the company, including Line Check Airmen and Assistant Chief Pilot. The company also released a PR on June 11 announcing “the commencement of Initial Aircraft Dispatcher Training,” which actually began June 9.
Over the next few weeks, the company will enter Phase III, which consists of two brief tasks that do not involve overly complex procedures, followed by ticket sales and advertisement. Currently, it seems ticket sales and advertisement is going to be in early-mid August, with certification before October. The exact timelines will be clarified as we approach September, but it is safe to say that Baltia’s plane should be making a big debut very soon. Those following the company closely should expect to see a steep rise in overall interest in Baltia’s operations over the coming days.
