Earlier this week in a New York US Circuit court, a grand jury indicted stock promoters Eric Cusimano & Jamie Boye on charges of felony securities fraud. Both defendants, and Cusimano’s wife, Jessica, are set to be arraigned shortly.
The pair used stock promotional websites, like BestDamnPennyStocks.com, to post misleading stock information about companies. The misleading information lead many investors to purchase stocks at inflated prices.
Pump and Dump schemes allow those in on the scheme to sell shares of the stock at inflated prices, while the investors buying the stock are unaware that the companies stock they are buying is for the most part worthless.
According to information reported on BuffaloNews.com, as many as 60,000 investors were subscribers to Cusimano’s websites. The Fed alleges that he received nearly $4.26 million to promote 26 penny stocks, while Boye received $980,000 to promote 15 penny stocks.
Eric and Jessica Cusimano were arrested earlier this week while visiting Panama. Both are expected to appear in Buffalo’s federal court next week before U.S. Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder Jr., court officials said. The whereabouts of Boye are unknown, however, he is believed to be in custody on seperate charges unrelated to the alleged securities fraud.

Footnote by 'Doubloon': These guys never learn, every 6 months someone else gets busted for the same scam, and the sad part is that there are suckers lined up to give them money for bad 'advise'.
The other side of that coin is promotion companies that get turned down for their promotion by legitimate public companies and the publico ends up getting slandered for years afterwards... Case in point willywizardstocks or first alert financial as it is also known has driven Wolverine Exploration (WOLV) into the sub pennies with a relentless bashing campaign over the last 3 years because promotor willywizardstocks was refused a $90,000. awareness campaign. More on that story in the future.
