JIM MORAN: THE DEMOCRAT LOVED BY ISLAMISTS

http://www.wnd.com/2012/10/jim-moran-the-demo...islamists/

U.S. Rep. Jim Moran, D-Va. –  whose campaign-field-director son has been caught in a voter-fraud sting – is familiar with controversy.

Known for anti-Semitic statements that have earned him censure from his own party, Moran  has long been criticized for taking money from Middle East sources with ties to terrorism, known as “the Wahhabi Lobby.”

In 2003, Moran, then a regional whip in the House of Representatives,  was punished by House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi after he suggested Jews were responsible for the push for war against Iraq .

As  WND reported today , his son, Patrick Moran, who serves as his campaign field director, has been caught on video advising an undercover reporter how to fraudulently cast ballots in the name of registered voters by forging utility bills and relying on the assistance of Democrat lawyers.

James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas , known for its hidden-camera probe of the controversial national community organizing group tied to Obama, ACORN, carried out the investigation.

In January,  Moran launched a racially charged attack on Rep. Allen West, R-Fla. in response to West’s strongly worded statement to progressives to take their collectivist message and “get the hell out of the United States of America.”

Moran, essentially, said West is not a real African-American.

“People like Mr. West, and [Arizona Gov. Jan] Brewer and so on, particularly Mr. West, is not only not representative of the African-American community or of the Republican Party, let alone of the American public. So what he says really is of little or no consequence, but it’s unfortunate,” Moran said.

In  a 2006 interview , the congressman blasted President George W. Bush as someone who surrounds himself with yes men, labeling Vice President Dick Cheney “the biggest a– kisser of all.”

But Moran’s ties to radical Islam have caused the most grief on Capitol Hill.

In 2003,  WND reported Moran received a campaign contribution from Abdurahman Alamoudi , an American Muslim leader who openly supported Hamas and Hezbollah and is now serving a 23-year prison sentence for financial and conspiracy charges, including a Libyan conspiracy to assassinate then-Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah.

“Muslim Mafia,” published by WND Books , documents Moran received thousands of dollars in donations from several Virginia Islamists under federal investigation for financing terrorism.

“Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret World that’s Conspiring to Islamize America” exposes the radical Islamic infiltration of Capitol Hill

Last year,  as WND reported , Moran headed a fundraiser for the controversial Council on American-Islamic Relations along with an imam tied to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing who urges the violent overthrow of the “filthy” U.S. government and the establishment of Islamic law.

The banquet concluded a day-long leadership conference offering workshops on subjects such as “counteracting Islamophobia,” “challenging scapegoating of Muslims in the 2012 election” and countering “the anti-Shariah campaign,” referring to state legislative efforts to ensure Islamic law is not implemented in the U.S.

In 2010,  Moran was a special guest at a fundraising dinner for a radical Saudi-funded mosque tied to the 9/11 hijackers and the Fort Hood shooter, among other Islamic terrorists .

The mosque, Dar Al-Hijrah, hosted at least two of the 9/11 terrorists who attacked the Pentagon, as well as the Fort Hood terrorist and an al-Qaida sleeper agent convicted of plotting to assassinate President Bush.

WND also reported Moran returned a donation to Jamal M. Barzinji after federal agents raided his Virginia home and offices in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. Barzinji was at the center of an active federal investigation into terrorist financing that involved convicted terrorist supporter Sami al-Arian.

Fierce opposition to Moran among his constituents is reflected in the website  Retire Jim Moran .

Along with  charges of corruption , the website highlights Moran’s affinity for radical Muslim interests, including his advocacy for moving six al-Qaida-trained Chinese Muslims to Northern Virginia and his insistence that it was “un-American” to oppose the idea of trying 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammad on U.S. soil.
