AlanC, while I don't agree with you at all on the reason the stock price is where it is, all kidding aside I absolutely applaud your reasoning on valuation. I rarely hear any long make that point. JBI is the same company that it has always been and if manipulation is the real reason why the stock is trading where it is then you can just buy and wait for those massive promised profits to come pouring in. Your concept is sound--you don't need to fret any shorters like many other longs are doing.
Any investment is worth exactly the total amount of the cash which it ultimately returns to the investor. The only adjustment is that those cash flows are discounted by roughly the interest rate between now and when those cash flows are returned. That valuation is a fundamental concept which somehow few investors realize.
JBI is worth roughly five years worth of interest *more* than it was at the start, ignoring any change in risk. If the secret catalyst doesn't allow for any profits, it's still worth zero...but if those promised cash flows back to you are eventually realized, you're now five years closer to getting that cash stream.
