" Bullshit, if one person can buy 5000 shares and be the best Bid for that particular broker it will be displayed. The real story is known, many here are buying small lots that do not meet the minimum size requirement and expect it to be displayed while ignoring quotation rules.
They have conveniently posted there size orders which clearly do not meet the requirements for display. Worse yet some place AON orders expecting those to be displayed....lol... My favorite of course is when they collude using Skype to place all of their orders at the same price to create "bid support" and fail to recognize the fact they all have different brokers and therefore although the combined size of their order meet and exceed minimum size requirements of display they are from different brokers and do not improve the NBBO.
Daily Reg SHO is meaningless, it can be 100% every single day and yet have absolutely nothing to do with any kind of short. If one cannot remove the Riskless Principal transactions from the data then one can clearly not discuss open transactions or short interest.
