As an answer to your question, not you in particular but everyone who feels you're right that there's no way Mr. Bordynuik could pocket the money...for over five years and up until a few weeks ago Mr. Bordynuik had controlling interest in JBI. He had complete autonomy on how to spend invested funds and it would have been as simple as Mr. Bordynuik deciding he deserved a fee for something and paying himself out of the company coffers.
It was completely up to Mr. Bordynuik as to how much he wanted to pay himself from invested funds for everything from having JBI buy the tape business from himself to setting his own salary as CoT to what fees he wanted to pay himself for other services to what perks he wanted the company to pay for him. Shareholders footed the bill.
