CSI Scholarship Helps Veterans with Expired VA Benefits Pursue Career Training

SKOKIE, Ill., June 3, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - Computer Systems Institute is currently offering the Honoring Our Heroes Scholarship , a $5,000 award designed to help honorably discharged veterans complete career training through CSI after their VA training benefits have expired. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, provide DD214 discharge papers, and enroll in any of the 32-week business, computer networking or healthcare courses offered at CSI's Chicago, Elgin or Gurnee campuses.

Half of the $5,000 scholarship is awarded at the midpoint of the recipient's chosen 32-week CSI curriculum. The second half is awarded upon the recipient's successful graduation. The award is applied toward tuition costs after the CSI Financial Aid Department verifies the amount of time the veteran served, the circumstances of his or her discharge, and any necessary paperwork.

The Honoring Our Heroes scholarship is one of several merit- and needs-based scholarships available to CSI students. Veterans who are not current CSI students can call CSI at 888-451-5155 to speak with an admissions counselor about admission requirements, the application process, and the different forms of financial aid available. Veterans who are already enrolled at CSI can begin the scholarship application process by completing the forms available on CSI's website.
