Although funny, your joke is hitting very close to the truth. I live about 30 to 40 miles from Saluda, S.C., the birthplace of William Barrett Travis and James Bonham of Alamo fame. If you go to Saluda today you will probably find more Spanish speakers than you will find people speaking English. I guess after taking the Alamo, they just kept on marching.
