SPARTANBURG, S.C., June 2, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Denny's Corporation (Nasdaq: DENN ), franchisor and operator of one of America's largest franchised full-service restaurant chains, along with franchise partner Marpor Corporation are pleased to announce the 25 th Anniversary of America's Diner in Puerto Rico. The partners recently celebrated this milestone anniversary with a local press conference honoring the history of their partnership in Puerto Rico, in addition to announcing a 13 th local restaurant that is set to open in the Hotel Las Cascadas of Aguadilla in early 2015.

The Marpor Corporation together with Denny's was the first to debut the 24-hour dining concept in Puerto Rico. Today, with 12 Denny's restaurant locations and more than 1,000 employees, it continues to be the American family-dining leader on the island. Its newest restaurant set to open in Aguadilla next year will add to that figure by creating more than 250 new jobs and stimulating the local economy when it opens its doors.

In conjunction with its 25 th Anniversary, Denny's restaurants across Puerto Rico will also participate in a two-month fundraiser to benefit the Hospital del Niño. As a long time supporter of the local children's hospital, the Marpor Corporation and local restaurants together have donated more than $100,000 to this great organization over the last five years. To continue its support for the local children's hospital cause, all Denny's restaurants in Puerto Rico will donate 25 cents to Hospital del Niño for every Grand Slam sold from June 2 through July 31.
