I also agree with you that all of these MJ and MMJ plays and projects deserve scrutiny, and no doubt many if not all are untested in the real market economy.
That said, my point was that I doubt Jeff Bezos really thinks drones are going to deliver product, for the very reasons you said. I'm just saying that statements made by established companies seem to get a pass, while startups never get the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps this is fair in some ways, but it strikes me that CEOs and boards say outrageous stuff frequently, and it's just passed over.
I'm certainly not comparing Amazon to FITX or any other company in the sector. Amazon has earned respect and for good reason. But when it comes to hyping a business, they all do it, and to single out certain players just seems unfair to investors mostly. Maybe that is what JG letter was eluding to.
