Swedish pay-TV operator Boxer TV is gearing up to launch a multiscreen, TV everywhere service this autumn.
The extension of Boxer’s existing DTT and on-demand service will initially support iOS and Android-based smartphones and tablets and will be based on technology provided by content protection and delivery firm Viaccess-Orca.
Boxer TV’s multiscreen offering will be able to deliver more than 60 channels of live TV as well as personalised subscription VOD and catch-up TV content to a range of mobile devices throughout Sweden and Denmark.
Boxer TV, which is owned by the Teracom Group, will deploy Viaccess-Orca’s end-to-end TV Everywhere solution, using a combination of Viaccess-Orca’s Connected Sentinel DRM and Prime Sentinel conditional access system, its RightTV service delivery platform and Compass content discovery platform.
“Viaccess-Orca has been our trusted technology partner for many years. By providing us with a unified solution for multiscreen — encompassing content protection, interactivity and delivery, discovery, and personalization — Viaccess-Orca will allow us to provide a consistent television experience to more than 1 million subscribers in Sweden and Denmark, anytime, anywhere, and on any screen,” said Roland Svensson, vice president product, Teracom Boxer Group.
