WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. / ACCESSWIRE / May 7, 2014 / Valuesetters Inc. (OTCQB:VSTR) announced that it has plans to develop a money-based chess game for both individual and tournament play on the company’s chess web site, www.chess.net.
Valuesetter’s Chief Executive Officer, Manny Teixeira, noted, "We’re now consulting with Jonathan Gottehrer, an entrepreneur and USCF-rated Candidate Master, to help advise on the development of our real money online chess platform. Jon’s passion for the game of chess and online expertise make him a perfect resource to oversee the development of a real-money platform."
The Chess.net site has already attracted 500,000 registered users, and both Grand Master Roman Dzindzichashvili and Former World Chess Champion Anatoly Karpov were instrumental in popularizing the site.
"I am excited to use my chess background and business consulting experience together in helping embrace this virtually untapped online-gaming opportunity," said Jonathan Gottehrer. "We plan to use Chess.net’s ranking system to keep games competitive and ensure that players can accurately gauge the strength of their opponents. We also believe real-money games and tournaments combined with a speed chess format will be successful new territory."
Mr. Teixeira continued, "On April 30th we finished our fiscal year, and we hope to start our fiscal 2015 year with several exciting projects that will generate online revenues for the company."
