Obama’s Debate Lie #???
Ever since Barack Obama first launched his campaign for president back in 2008, there is one thing that has remained consistent – his ability to make so many Americans believe his lies. His silver tongued way with words reminds me of the adage of someone being able to sell ice cubes to an Eskimo or a sunlamp to desert nomad.
If anyone had the time and capability to fact check everything Obama has said since first running for the presidency in 2008, I would not be surprised to see the number of incidents of lying tally up into the thousands. This week’s presidential debate is no different.
In that last debate , Obama lied about his stance on energy, specifically the coal industry. He lied about his alleged support of the Second Amendment right to bear arms. He lied about not raising taxes on people making less than $250,000 a year. He lied about what he said about the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi. And now a group of organizations are pointing to another lie that effortlessly flowed from his forked tongue.
The Family Research Council , along with several others, have taken President Obama’s words about Planned Parenthood to the fact checking sources and found yet another of the many lies he so carefully spun during the Tuesday night debate. In one of this several references to Planned Parenthood, Obama said :
”When Governor Romney says that we should eliminate funding for Planned Parenthood, there are millions of women all across the country, who rely on Planned Parenthood for, not just contraceptive care, they rely on it for mammograms, for cervical cancer screenings.”
Back in March of 2011, an undercover investigation revealed that Planned Parenthood does not provide mammograms as many believed.
One of the strongest supporters of Planned Parenthood is the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure . In February of 2012, Komen caused quite a stir when CEO Nancy Brinker explained their reason for pulling funds from Planned Parenthood saying:
“It was nothing they were doing wrong. We have decided not to fund, wherever possible, pass-through grants. We were giving them money, they were sending women out for mammograms. What we would like to have are clinics where we can directly fund mammograms.”
In September of 2012, PolitiFact.com posted an article about Planned Parenthood and a book, Planned Bullyhood written by Karen Handel, former Georgia Secretary of State. It quotes Handel as writing:
“The truth is, Planned Parenthood does not provide mammograms. Planned Parenthood refers women to mammography providers, serving as the middlewoman, if you will.”
It seems that everyone else knows the facts about Planned Parenthood NOT providing mammograms except for President Obama. But then again, he probably knew them and figured it didn’t matter because after all, so many Americans believe his other lies that they’d believe this one too.
