Billy Cox--- Not sure this is a positive thing. This confirms the original plan has a restriction of only 5 employees to keep the size small, and expansion has opposition from neighbors. Also, the Mayor is quoted as saying CEN Biotech has put the cart before the horse by building these facilities before Health Canada approvals. 3-6 months before any changes to current plan are on the table, and may or may not be approved it's a coin flip at best (for expansion beyond 60,000 sq. ft and 5 employees). There is not much positive to take away from this short to medium term, though the company could obviously do well longer term. I wish you all the best of luck, but pressure is likely short term in response to this report.
*********I didn't see it that way. The company applied for and received approval from the City to do what they are doing right now. The 5 employee thing was and has been known and apparently they feel like they can do what they are approved to do with 5. What they have applied for now is for the larger of the 3 building, that hasn't been started yet. I don't understand his "cart before the horse" statement. They have done to this point, evrything the City required. As far as the License to Grow, you can't get the license until you have a building. I personally talked to someone close to HC and inquired how the whole procedure worked. I was told that the basis for their apporval was in the application. If everything meets their standards, they issue a ready to build. Once the building is complete and ready, they come back to make sure that everything in the application is done correctly.
