First Lady Says We’re in a Recovery and It’s All Thanks to Barack
The first lady was interviewed by a hip-hop radio station in the Washington D.C. area. She was asked what she thought was the state of the union. Here was her response:
I mean, we are seeing right now that we are in the midst of a huge recovery. Right? Because of what this president has done. Pulled this economy from the brink of collapse when we were losing 800,000 jobs a month. Now we’re gaining every — throughout most of his presidency, we’ve been adding jobs to this economy because of what he’s been doing. The stock market has doubled. Housing prices are rising. Foreclosure rates are lowering. But in the face of that, you still have people trying to convince us that things aren’t better. And that just doesn’t make sense. Now, Barack of all people knows that we still have a long way to go to completely rebuild the economy. But we’re headed in the right direction. And when you see all of that truth, it’s hard to understand why are people blocking this? Why are people talking about not raising taxes on wealthy people? Why is it that people don’t want to fight to make sure that veterans have job opportunities?
I’m sure everything looks just great from her perspective. It’s as if she’s thinking, “What’s everybody complaining about? The economy’s great. I get to go on vacations whenever I want, stay in 5-star hotels, drink fancy martinis, buy designer clothes, eat gourmet organic meals. Everything’s been great ever since we took office.”
Last year, the Daily Mail had an article detailing the Obamas’ spending habits, specifically vacations. It was estimated that over the past year, Michelle had spent over $10 million on vacations, including $375,000 on her Spain vacation, $2,000 a night in a Colorado suite, and $1.5 million in Hawaii. Sources also indicated that Michelle has a preference for martinis made with “top shelf” vodka.
Compare her lavish lifestyle to the average hard-working American. The median income has fallen from $52,195 in 2009 to $50,054 in 2011. In 2007, before the “Great Recession,” the average household income was $54,489. So, people are making less now during the “recovery” than during the recession. How can a recovery be worse than the economic downturn from which we are allegedly recovering?
The Obamas spend more on vacations in 1 year than what most Americans can afford to spend in a lifetime. Michelle is completely detached from reality if she really thinks we’re in a recovery, and that her husband is to thank. Our economy is tanking still, and her husband is to blame.
