Global LNG Market Report 2014
M2 - Tue Jan 07, 11:01AM CST
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/twdtwk/global_lng_market) has announced the addition of the "Global LNG Market" report to their offering. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the U.S. could face a gap in supply of natural gas of about five trillion cubic feet (Tcf) by 2020. Consequently, increased imports of natural gas will be required to meet future shortfalls. Canada may not be able to sustain increasing volumes of exports to the U.S. due to Canada's own increasing demand for natural gas. The EIA expects LNG imports to reach 0.8 Tcf a year by 2020, or about three percent of our total consumption. The demand for LNG is expected to grow. To make LNG available for use in the U.S., energy companies must invest in the LNG value chain, which is a number of different operations that are highly linked and dependent upon one another. Natural gas can be economically produced and delivered to the U.S. as LNG in a price range of about $2.50 - $3.50 per million Btu (MMBtu) at Henry Hub in Louisiana, depending largely on shipping cost. The emergence of LNG is not only due to its efficiency and eco-friendliness, but also due to economical reasons. LNG is quite competitive vis-?-vis alternative sources such as naphtha, crude and coal and is also competitive vis-?-vis piped gas if transported over distances exceeding 2000 km. With projected decreases in conventional onshore and offshore natural gas production and the projected decline in natural gas imports through to 2025, growth in U.S. and global natural gas supplies will depend on non-conventional domestic production, natural gas imports, and imports of LNG. Key Topics Covered: A. Executive Summary B. Introduction to Liquefied Natural Gas C. Global LNG Market D. Major Technologies for Liquefaction E. Factors Impacting the Industry F. Oil and Gas Industry in Australia - 2012 Report: By 2020, Natural Gas Will Eventually Emerge As a Chief Source for Production of Electrical Power
M2 - Mon Jul 29, 12:07PM CDT
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/9n7xbr/oil_and_gas) has announced the addition of the "Oil and Gas Industry in Australia" report to their offering. This Oceania country is also greatly reliant on coal for its electrical power generation as more than 75% of power generation comes through this natural resource, followed by oil, gas and then hydro. The state also claims that by 2020, natural gas will eventually emerge as a chief source for production of electrical power. There is no doubting the fact that Australia's coal is of immaculate quality and hence emits very minor amount of sulphur dioxide when taken into production for electricity. Focus is being shifted on bringing more of natural gas in use for power production, although coal would continue to be used extensively for the purpose until 2014. Since this has also been a clear cause for almost third of the country's total carbon dioxide emissions, it is high time that Australia starts capitalizing more and more on gas and hydro assets for satisfying its overall power needs. According to reports, Australia's electricity supply sector has alone made a contribution of over US$ 14 billion to its GDP in the past years. Even though the power generation sector remained abundant and rather superfluous in amount, the excess was left unaccounted for due to system losses. Residential users are the front runners in the consumer league for power followed by the commercial sector. Australia's gas exporting projects are drawing keen interest from many Asian countries. Further, Prime Minister Julia Gillard dismissing the RSPT can be looked upon as a boon to mining investors as it provides them exemption from the earlier imposed 40% levy on profits, hence making it simpler for every sector from mining, oil and gas to the LNG industry in Queensland to grow. What would be interesting to watch is how much the Australian power sector will grow in the coming years with a sufficient supply of oil and gas resources in their own backyard.
