True enough. I work as an RRT (Respiratory Therapist) and some patients report that even with asthma and other respiratory illness MJ has proven to help, especially with vaporizers and other delivery options available that limit or remove any smoke that could have adverse effects. The problem with the US is that every study has only looked at the possible harmful effects, instead of objective clinical trials that could prove statistically what many people have been reporting for years.
I think the Pharm companies have been trying to squash this as well as they stand to lose lots of money from much more powerful addictive drugs that in some cases are less effective to boot. I think this might be slowly changing with the CBD studies and such, but it's still a climb. You also just have people that can't get past the "image" of what burning one looks like. Many of these same people think nothing of alcoholics and other prescription drug abusers that cost the US medical system billions.
