Fantastic !!! My favorite Manager. I had the opportunity to have dinner with Jack 20 years ago while he was CEO at GE. He brought all GE General managers and above to a annual Management meeting to Boca Raton Fl. Opened the meeting at the podium center stage and stated the following....
"Good Morning !!! I will tell you, while employed at General Electric, the greatest Job Security you will have is by having an updated Resume in your hip pocket". he continued for an hour to an attentive but Very Silent Hall. When I started my career at GE there were 27 levels of management between me and Jack Welch, by 1988 there were only3.....Tear down the silos!!!
I ran a small piece of the business for GE during my 28 years before I retired.
