You can filter the water out to be more pure that a bottle of Dasani. We were put under a order that we had to be under 5ppm(parts per million) oil and grease to discharge our produced water into the gulf. The Federal regulations is 29 ppm. I work on the best producer and ran facility in the state waters of Louisiana. We installed a coalescer to get our overboard water to pass. We are sampled every week instead of every month. We have never failed a test and no we don't cheat on the tests. We have an IR (Infrared) machine on our overboard water line that samples all the time. We have a hand held IR machine and we send in weekly samples to the lab for testing. This system uses a string wound filter first. This filter uses a 1 micron wrap on the inside and keeps increasing the micron with each wrap until the outside is a 25 micron. Next is a filter pot that has all 1 micron melblown filters. Next we use the first set of coalescing tubes, These tubes take the water and force it to the inside of the tubes. As the water passes through these tubes the small oil particles are striped from the water and they coalesce together. The water is then ran through a last set of coalescer tubes which preforms the same as the last step. Our water is coming from our skimmer at between 70 and 100ppm. We have tested our produced water from the outlet of our coalescer against a bottle of Dasani. Our water is a constant 1ppm. Dasani is always over 2ppm. After this you would need a desalination unit and to oxygenate the water. I think it could be a great way to solve the lack of water problem going on. Any investors want to take a run at it? I have the knowledge and they would pay us to get their water. That is called making money hand over fist!!!!!
