Well, I'm certain the process "works" if that's any point of contention. Pyrolysis really does break down carbon-based material into oils, gases and some char. It's a simple process. I don't know if anyone questions that plastic will essentially melt at a high enough temperature, in a chamber void of oxygen so the plastic doesn't ignite at that temperature.
I'm not sure if I get your second point about a buyer not necessarily caring if it was profitable. Are you looking at this from the 'green but costly' angle?? If so, the plastics JBI needs (HDPE, LDPE and PP) can be recycled and that's green too. If the plastic is too co-mingled with other material where it can't be recycled, JBI can't use it either.
Please explain why a buyer might not care whether JBI's process is profitable.
