I know this is OT for this board, but it's relative to most of us anyhow. Our futures are in the balance.

St. John, this is what I'd like posted on my All-in-One Board, where the readers know my position.

From lowman:

10 Reasons to dislike Mitt Romney:

.

A lot is being said in the media about Mitt Romney not being "likable" or that he doesn't "relate well" to people. Frankly, I struggled to understand why. So after much research, I’ve come up with a Top Ten List to explain this "unlikablility."
.
He's collar-ad handsome with a gracious, statesmanlike aura. He looks like every central casting's #1 choice for Commander-in-Chief.
.
He's been faithfully married to one woman his entire life and even during her bouts with breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.
.
There are no scandals or skeletons in his closet - I ask you, how boring is that?
.
He doesn't and probably wouldn't speak in a very contrived fake Southern, "black preacher's voice".
.
Clearly, he's highly intelligent having graduated cum laude from Harvard Law and Harvard Business Schools. We know that because his college records and transcripts aren't sealed.
.
He doesn't smoke or consume alcohol; he's never done drugs even during the counterculture age as a college student. He's probably way too square for today's America.
.
He represents the America of "yesterday" when people believed in God, attended church services, didn't screw around and worked hard to become successful!
.
He is the father of five great sons, none of which has a police record or is in drug rehab. But, of course, they were raised by a stay-at-home mom, a choice that certainly deserves our scorn.
.
And oh yes, he's a Mormon. We should be and need to be very afraid of that strange religion. It teaches its members to be clean-living, patriotic, fiscally conservative, charitable, self-reliant and honest! What's up with THAT!
.
And finally, pundits say because of his wealth he can't relate to ordinary Americans. I guess that's probably because he actually earned that money himself and didn't marry it like John Kerry or inheriting it from his dad like any number of Kennedys. Obviously, Mitt Romney doesn't understand that honest work and earning your own money makes you unable to relate to Americans.
.
His full Name is: Willard Mitt Romney
.
He was born March 12, 1947 and is 65 years old.
.
His Father was George W. Romney, former Governor of the State of Michigan
.
He was raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
.
He has been married to Ann Romney since 1969 and they have five children.
.
He graduated from Brigham Young University with a BA and Harvard with a J.D. and MBA.
.
After high school he spent 30 months in France as a missionary.
.
He attended Harvard Business and Harvard Law Schools simultaneously. He passed the bar exam in Michigan, but never practiced law.
.
In 1984, he co-founded Bain Capital, a private equity investment firm, one of the largest such firms in the country.
.
In 1994 he ran for the senate in Massachusetts, but lost to Ted Kennedy.
.
He was President/CEO of the 2002 Winter Olympics.
.
In 2002, he was elected Governor of Massachusetts and during his term in office eliminated a $1.5 billion deficit.
.
Some Interesting facts about Mitt Romney:
.
Bain Capital helped one small office supply store in Massachusetts develop into a company that now boasts over 2,000 stores and currently employs some 90,000 Americans - it’s called Staples.
.
Bain Capital also performed the same kind of business miracle over and over again with companies like Domino's Pizza, Sealy, Brookstone, The Weather Channel, Burger King, Warner Music Group, Dollarama, Home Depot and many others.
.
Mitt Romney was an unpaid volunteer campaign worker for his dad's gubernatorial campaign 1 year.
.
When his dad was governor, he was an unpaid intern in his office for eight years.
.
Mitt Romney was an unpaid bishop and state president of his church for ten years.
.
Mitt Romney was the unpaid President of the Salt Lake Olympic Committee for three years.
.
Mitt Romney took no salary for 4 years when he served as Governor of Massachusetts.
.
Mitt Romney donated his entire inheritance from his father to charity.
.
Mitt Romney is one of the wealthiest self-made men in our country, but has given more back to its citizens in terms of money, service and time than most. And in 2011 he donated over $4 million - almost 19% of his income – to charity. Just for comparison, Barack Obama donated a whole 1% and Joe Biden donated a whopping $300 or .0013% of his income.
.
Mitt Romney is Trustworthy and will:
.
Show us his birth certificate.
Show us his high school and college transcripts.
Show us his social security card.
Show us his undergraduate and graduate degrees.
Show us his draft notice.
Show us his medical records.
Show us he has nothing to hide.
.
Mitt Romney's background, experience and trustworthiness have shown him to be a great leader and excellent citizen, qualified to be President of the United States.
.
You may feel he’s not the best or most conservative candidate the GOP could have selected, but at least we know what religion he is, that he won't desecrate the flag, violate the Constitution, bow down to foreign powers or be fiscally irresponsible. I feel he has the ability to turn around the current financial debacle that the Obama regime has gotten us into. We won't like all the things that must be done to recover from this overwhelming debt, but someone with Romney's background stands a much better chance of doing it than an inept, incompetent socialist.
.
However, on the minus side it’s undeniably true that he never was a community organizer, took drugs, smoked pot; got drunk; no, he wasn’t mentored by communists, count domestic terrorists among his associates or belong to a congregation whose pastor called for God to damn our beloved country.
