Get your Derby hat ready! If you’re not headed to Kentucky, Prestonwood Polo Club is THE place to be to enjoy the Kentucky Derby festivities in North Texas. The 13th annual Polo on the Lawn is presented by the Prestonwood Polo & Country Club’s Ladies Polo Auxiliary and the Prestonwood Polo Foundation and features a Kentucky-Derby-themed afternoon of polo with fast-paced action, thoroughbred beauties, champagne divot stomping, and sideline socializing.
Set each year on Derby Day (with live broadcast viewing in the pavilion), Polo on the Lawn aims to introduce the Sport of Kings to a broader audience while raising funds and awareness for important community causes, raising approximately $500,000 to date. The 13th annual Polo on the Lawn this year benefits Project Transformation in serving low-income children and youth in North Texas.

With a trifold focus on three Cs: children, college students and communities, Dallas-based Project Transformation fulfills its mission by supporting underserved children and families, engaging young adults in purposeful leadership and ministry, and connecting churches to communities in need. Since its founding in 1998, Project Transformation has harnessed the talents of college interns to run free summer day camps and after-school programs for 6,800 children in low-income North Texas neighborhoods, focusing on physical, spiritual, and academic enrichment with an emphasis on literacy. The interns benefit from meaningful relationships, hands-on leadership training, and interaction with established nonprofit and ministry leaders. Urban churches house the programs, creating opportunities to revitalize communities and outreach with neighborhood families. Quickly becoming a national model for ministry and service through which leaders emerge, communities change, and lives transform, Project Transformation is celebrating its 16th anniversary of service in 2014
