Crazy Ontario power story: In the early 1900s,

In the early 1900s, Sir Henry Pellatt build a castle mansion in Toronto called Casa Loma. I watched a presentation about the history there and, as an American capatilst, my jaw dropped to the floor.
His dad was largely responsible for setting up the Toronto financial scene, and this guy financed and built the hydro power plant on the Niagara. He was obviously successful, and he built his dream home, Casa Loma (which is amazingly beautiful).
Shortly after, the Canucks decided that the power belonged to everyone, not Sir Pallett. So, the government basically confiscated his power plant and he became so broke that he couldn't afford to pay taxes on Casa Loma, which he could no longer afford.
Long story short, the solar panel power having to be sold to Hyrdo One is not a surprise, lol.
