This is why you hire lawyers. It's not like management is going to be taking 20 hours a week to work on this. They handed the baton off to their general council. It's the lawyer's job to chase down the leads, build a case, and maximize the damages paid to his client. By the way, how hard are they going to work when the defendant continues to provide evidence against himself!
The guy gets charged with defamation, you would think that would be a clue to give it a rest but no he just keeps spoon feeding general council with more evidence as if the 31 pieces cited in the suit were not enough!
Then, he recruits a buddy of his who "has his back and will get the company to drop the suit" thereby supplying more evidence for civil conspiracy!
The fact pattern here is so crystal clear that a first year associate could win this case just be reading this week's defamatory comments to the jury.
