California is a 3 tier system: 1 - Distiller 2 -
Post# of 9964
1 - Distiller
2 - Distributor
3 - Retailer
* Marani is the distiller
* Restaurant Depot (distributor) is not open to the public. In order to purchase alcohol there you must be licensed to retail.
* The Retailer will sell to the public. Restaurant Depot sells to bars/restaurants - Although they could, I doubt a liquor store would shop there.
The Restaurant Depot advantage for MRIB is that any bar/ restaurant licensed to sell alcohol can purchase Marani and resale. Restaurant Depot will do tastings to promote the product. If a bar/restaurant want to try the product in their business they do not have to wait for a typical distributor to bring it to them; fill out new contracts; paperwork etc. They can simply purchase a bottle or as much as they want - place it on their shelve and sell it.
MRIB is now licensed in Oregon - there are different rules. Liquor stores are operated by the state. So in essence Marani will be placed in every state liquor store (Yes - every state liquor store).
