cann-chartWelcome back CANN! Following their suspension, Advanced Cannabis Solutions has hit the ground running since returning to trading. There were up over 50% on April 16th, just one week after the halt ended. The SEC ordered the suspension on March 27th, 2014 in response to concerns that affiliates and shareholders may have engaged in unlawful distribution of securities. Like many other pot stocks that have been halted, CANN management responded to the suspension with bewilderment. CFO of Advanced Cannabis Solutions Christopher Taylor stated that “the company is as shocked as anyone.” When PHOT was suspended on April 10th, leaders of the company also claimed to be unaware of the government’s intentions. Prepared or not, CANN’s recovery is good news for the rest of the pot sector. Investors nervous over the suspensions had led to down trading days in the wake of the PHOT halt. CANN did not appear to be concerned by the halt, as during that period the company decided to relocate its corporate headquarters. The SEC can bang down the doors at CANN, but they’ll just find new ones. Advanced Cannabis also made a deal during the halt with the Alison Group. The company will distribute Child Resistant Reclosable Easy Open bags to marijuana dispensaries in Colorado. The company has continued to move forward in the wake of the halt, as has the marijuana industry. Some may take the upturn in CANN stock as a positive sign for the longevity of the industry. The industry took a hit but can’t be knocked down.
