Here's something I posted in the other forum to provide some perspective:
"In my opinion (the company, I'm sure, will provide clarification in due time)...
An increase in the authorized share count is probably due to an ongoing requirement by lenders for the company to maintain appropriate collateral for outstanding monies, or as capital for future expenses or acquisition purposes.
The ongoing share buyback is unrelated to this action. A share buyback accomplishes two things:
- decreases the number of outstanding shares, and
- decreases the tradable float.
...both of which should be viewed as very good for the company's good standing. "
