The green building materials market report provides an in-depth analysis of the global green building materials industry. The report segments the market on the basis of applications, end-users and regions and also provides forecasts and estimates for each segment. The report also analyses the demand and supply characteristics of the market by providing a detailed forecast and analysis of volume and revenue for the period 2013 to 2019. Materials such as cellulose, cotton, fiberglass and mineral wool are capturing the market for insulations due to their excellent properties. Insulation application segment is thus the largest segment in green building materials and accounted for the largest part of the market share in 2012. Development of green roofs with eco-friendly materials from various manufacturers has also driven the growth of the roofing application segment. Interior finishing materials including eco-friendly carpets, recycled tiles and VOC free glues & paints are being consumed rapidly due to regulations regarding indoor environment quality and health hazards. Wooden structures, steel with recycle content, autoclaved aerated concrete, engineered lumber and structural insulated panels for framing applications are expected to replace conventional materials. Hence, interior finishing and framing applications are expected to grow with healthy growth numbers over the forecast period. Carpets & Floorcoverings Market Update 2014
M2 - Fri Jan 31, 3:55AM CST
Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/thp2x7/carpets_and) has announced the addition of the "Carpets & Floorcoverings Market Update 2014" report to their offering. Despite the sluggish growth that the UK economy has experienced in the wake of the recession, the carpets and floorcoverings market is estimated to have observed incremental year-on-year growth between 2009 and 2013. However, high inflation and unemployment, along with rising living costs and energy prices, have meant that household budgets have remained squeezed, which has resulted in relatively sluggish growth across the carpets and floorcoverings market during the past 5 years; the authors estimate the market's value to have increased by just 4.1% between 2009 and 2013. The pressures on household budgets felt since the recession has seen demand for carpet and floorcovering products particularly those positioned at the premium end of the market decline somewhat, with a much greater proportion of consumers now opting for low-cost alternatives instead in order to save on costs, a factor that has served to diminish the market's value in recent years. The depressed property market, along with the reduced availability of credit for prospective homebuyers in the UK, has also served to put downwards pressure on the carpets and floorcoverings market in recent years, with the number of property transactions continuing to observe sluggish growth following the bursting of the property bubble back in 2007/2008. Nevertheless, some sectors of the carpets and floorcoverings market have continued to gain traction, particularly during 2013, with wood/laminate and tiled flooring products experiencing relatively strong growth over the past year, at 2.5% and 2.1%, respectively. These sectors have continued to gather strength following increased consumer preferences for more continental styles of flooring, which generally flavour wood or tiling. Indeed, wood/laminate options have benefitted significantly from the continued expansion of flat-pack furniture giant, IKEA, which has a strong presence in the UK and the rest of Europe, and is renowned for its wood-based interior ranges. Such styles have continued to gain favour due to their stylish finish and practical benefits, e.g. easy maintenance and high durability. Both sectors are expected to continue to gain market share within the carpets and floorcoverings industry in the future, although this may be to the detriment of the traditional carpet sector which, despite remaining the largest sector of the total market, has begun to fall out of favour with the modern consumer. Another area set for growth is likely to be sustainable flooring alternatives, which is expected to be driven by an increasingly environmentally conscientious consumer base. As such, flooring sourced from sustainable or recycled materials, such as bamboo, cork, recycled wood and rubber, are expected to represent significant areas of opportunities for manufacturers in the future. The authors expect growth within the carpets and floorcoverings market to accelerate over the next 5 years, with a strengthening economy, along with improvements within the property market following the introduction of new Government-backed schemes, such as Help to Buy, helping to drive demand for products. As such, the authors estimate the market will observe growth of 8.7% between 2014 and 2018, with the wood/laminate and tiled flooring sectors enjoying particularly strong growth during the 5-year forecast period.
