Stocks trim drop after Federal Reserve release
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks on Wednesday scaled back on still-deep losses after the release of the Federal Reserve's Beige Book of economic conditions, which found modest expansion since the prior report. The information "is nothing we don't already know nationally with just regional differentiation of note," Peter Boockvar, equity strategist at Miller Tabak, said in an emailed comment. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIJIA) was off 115.4 points at 13,358. The S&P 500 index (SNC:SPX) fell 7.72 points to 1,433.76. The Nasdaq Composite (NASDAQ:COMP) lost 11.29 points to 3,053.73.
