Comverge Announces Appointment of Gregory J. Dukat as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer

NORCROSS, Ga., April 9, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Comverge, Inc., the leading provider of intelligent energy management solutions for residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) customers, today announced that Gregory J. Dukat has joined the company as Chairman, President and CEO.  Mr. Dukat has a strong track record of success as CEO of four software companies over the past 13 years, including Indus International (Ventyx), a software company with asset and customer management solutions serving the utility industry.

Most recently, Mr. Dukat was Chairman and CEO of Campus Management, a leading provider of software solutions to over 1,300 higher education institutions in 35 countries, where he successfully drove an acceleration of sales growth and oversaw the development and delivery of industry-leading products to the largest and most respected higher education institutions.  Prior to Campus Management, Mr. Dukat served as CEO of StarCite, a global leader in Web-based solutions for strategic event management. At StarCite he oversaw operations, strategic planning and development of new revenue models. Prior to StarCite, he served as CEO of Indus International (Ventyx), where he increased revenues and integrated four acquisitions. Mr. Dukat began his enterprise software career at JD Edwards, where he took on roles of increasing responsibility and ultimately ran a several hundred million dollar division. Mr. Dukat received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York College at Buffalo.

"I am extremely excited to join the Comverge team," said Dukat. "Comverge is a leading company in the demand response industry with differentiated products and services and a talented, committed management team. With these assets and a strong balance sheet, Comverge is well-positioned to grow and remains committed to developing and delivering the best demand response products and services to utilities, and C&I and residential customers."

Mr. Dukat's appointment follows Blake Young's resignation as President and CEO of Comverge. Mr. Young had served as a director of Comverge since 2006 and CEO since 2010. During Mr. Young's tenure at Comverge, the company solidified its leading market position in the demand response industry and developed leading products and services, including IntelliSOURCE, an enterprise-class software platform used by utilities to manage their demand response programs. Mr. Young will have an ongoing involvement with the company as an advisor to the board of directors.

Comverge was acquired in May 2012 by H.I.G. Capital, a leading middle-market private investment firm with over $15.0Bn of assets under management. Commenting on the hire, Brian Schwartz, director of Comverge and Executive Managing Director at H.I.G. Capital noted that, "Greg brings with him the accumulated experience from a long and successful career growing technology, software and services businesses. We believe that Comverge will continue to prosper under his leadership and we are very excited about Comverge's future growth prospects. We also want to thank Blake for his leadership of the company over the past several years and wish him the very best."
